Hi All
New to the forum... Was tinkering with my son's 89 3.0 found some vacuum lines and fuel lines that needed to be replaced. Well needless to say I got a little too far into it and next thing you know I have hooked something back up incorrectly. The engine cranks but doesn't start or starts barely - when it does a huge amount of white smoke comes out the tail pipe (kinda like seafoaming the intake...) I need to know where the 2 fuel lines go from the regulator and from the 2 lines that come from the front of the engine. I have moved them so much now I don't know what goes where... Any pictures or diagrams would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks but it looks like the thread is only for the 22R. Does anyone have one for the 6cyl 3.0??

Even though the 3.0L maybe for a different year, they are very similar as far as the hoses are concern.

Thanks for that manual!
I did search it and still could not find the schematic for the hoses on the passenger side of the intake. Could someone please help with pictures or a description where the following hoses attach to the intake:
1. The 2 lines coming from the front of the engine - they are connected with protective hose to go past the exhaust manifold.
2. The line coming from the fuel pressure regulator?? (mounted closest to the battery.
3. The line that comes from behind the engine near the fire wall
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you post pictures of the hoses you are referring to?
1. You seem to be describing the vacuum hoses that goes to the power steering pump idle up valve; two hoses with a rubber sleeve on the outside.
2. The fuel pressure regulator is on the left side of the engine next to the throttle body. And it is nowhere close to the battery.
3. ? Metal line at the back?

yes I am referring to the vacuum hoses that goes to the power steering pump idle up valve.
The other hoses I am referring to are the ones coming from the idle up for the a/c
The one coming from behind the engine is not metal but I believe it is some type of fuel hose -
Any help would be appreciated. I did breakdown and take it in to a repair shop, they did hook everything up so it runs now but said they were unsure because of the lack of detailed schematics. I went to the Toyota dealership also to see if they had it and they didn't either.... aaargh!

So where are you at with it now? How many of the hoses are you still unsure of where they go? Do you have any picture of the parts that you are referring to?
There is a fuel return line/hose that is located at the right rear corner of the engine; it goes from the engine to the line on the fender well, and there is also one that goes from the charcoal canister to the engine that is also in that general area.
